Samsung used FMS 2026 to present a broad roadmap covering HBM4E, HBM5, LPDDR5X-PIM, 400-layer NAND and two new concepts called zHBM and zNAND-O . The presentation reads more like a pitch to customers and investors than a product announcement, since Samsung provided no launch dates for most of the technologies.

Microsoft plans portable Xbox disc licenses and Xbox 360 emulation for PC

Leaked Microsoft documents describe two separate programs for bringing older Xbox games to future hardware. The source is the same memo we have already covered about Disc to Digital game conversion as well as bringing Xbox 360 games to the newer platforms.

The Verge now claims that one would convert Xbox One and Xbox Series discs into digital licenses. The second would bring selected original Xbox and Xbox 360 games to PCs through Microsoft’s emulator.

GIGABYTE GPU price revision may affect existing unshipped orders in Japan

South Korea is not the only market facing GPU price hikes. Japan is also affected, and this time a distributor is specifically attributing the increase to Gigabyte.

Gigabyte graphics card prices are increasing in Japan, according to a notice published by hardware distributor CFD Sales. The revised prices apply to orders placed through its CFD-BIZ wholesale platform from August 1, 2026.
