DDR5 HUDIMM simulation with ASUS BIOS shows nearly 50% bandwidth loss

Half the memory bus, half the bandwidth

HKEPC has published what appears to be the first hands-on performance test of DDR5 HUDIMM , a cut-down memory design that keeps only one 32-bit sub-channel instead of the two 32-bit sub-channels used by standard DDR5 UDIMM modules. The site says the test was carried out with ASUS support and used a BIOS that recognizes HUDIMM operation.

This is not a retail HUDIMM kit review. HKEPC says it simulated the format by masking

NVIDIA says new ReSTIR path tracing update is 2 to 3 times faster, but this is still research

ReSTIR PT Enhanced could lower the cost of real-time path tracing

NVIDIA researchers have published a new paper called ReSTIR PT Enhanced: Algorithmic Advances for Faster and More Robust ReSTIR Path Tracing. They say the updated method can make ReSTIR path tracing 2 to 3 times faster while also lowering visual and numerical error.

Research, not a new game tech just yet

What NVIDIA is showing here is a cleaner and cheaper way to do the same class of path-traced lighting work that already sits behind many of its real-time

A Reddit post details a long-running dispute between an NZXT customer and the company after an NZXT Kraken AIO allegedly leaked onto an ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 32GB OC Edition in August 2025. The owner says NZXT acknowledged a manufacturing defect in writing, replaced the cooler, and accepted that the leak damaged both the graphics card and motherboard. Sounds great, but

Valve developer gets Radeon HD 7870 XT working on Linux, nearly 14 years after launch

Old Radeon revived, HD 7870 XT support lands for Linux AMDGPU

As we reported in earlier Linux driver coverage, Valve graphics engineer Timur Kristóf has been leading much of the work to move old AMD GCN 1.0 and 1.1 hardware onto the AMDGPU driver by default. That effort already brought better performance and RADV Vulkan support to many old Radeon cards on Linux. Now he is back with another fix, this time for one of the strangest models from that era, the Radeon HD 7

Intel Arc G3 for gaming handhelds announcement expected in a few weeks

Rare Cooler Master GeForce RTX 5080 shows up at repair shop, turns out it wasn’t even broken

Limited Cooler Master RTX 5080 sent for repair after PSU swap

What do you do when you install new hardware and see a spark inside your PC? The last thing you should do is power it on again, but that is apparently what the owner did here. He then assumed the graphics card had died and sent it to Brother Zhang for repair.

This card is quite rarel. It is not a model you can easily buy worldwide. The Cooler Master special edition appears to have been sold with the company
