Valve is funding Collabora’s work to bring the open-source RADV Vulkan driver to Windows. The experimental port has already reached the point where it can run Counter-Strike 2 using the game’s Vulkan renderer.

A proposed Linux update could improve gaming performance on the Steam Deck and other AMD systems. Early testing shows a 31.8% increase in 1% low FPS, which should result in fewer noticeable frame drops.

Microsoft has confirmed that the recent Xbox service outage should not have prevented users from playing games from physical discs. The company is now investigating why some consoles failed to launch disc-based games during the interruption.
