Valve ends OEM Steam Deck LCD battery supply after four years

Valve has started reducing the supply of official replacement parts for the original Steam Deck LCD. The change comes just over four years after the handheld launched in February 2022.

A Steam Deck owner contacted iFixit after noticing that the official LCD battery was no longer available. According to the support response, iFixit was unlikely to receive more OEM batteries from Valve.

NVIDIA says SEGA will bring games to computers powered by its new RTX Spark processor. Virtua Fighter Crossroads is the first title named as part of the agreement.

NVIDIA Vice President Deepu Talla confirmed the plans during a press briefing. Talla said that “ all of SEGA’s games are coming to RTX Spark, ” although neither company has provided a full list of supported releases.

A community developer has reverse-engineered the Steam Controller 2 wireless protocol and released an open-source replacement for Valve’s receiver. OpenPuck runs on a Pro Micro NRF52840 microcontroller board, which is available for around $8.

Once flashed with the custom firmware, the board can pair with the Steam Controller through its proprietary 2.4 GHz connection. The project’s developer says community testing measured latency within 1 ms
