Apple Issues Quarterly Guidance Update in Coronavirus Outbreak's Wake

Intel Plans to Lay Off 129 Employees

Intel's handing out pink slips. The San Francisco Chronicle reported on February 13 that, according to filings with the California Employment Development Department, the company plans to lay off 129 employees from its Santa Clara headquarters.

TrendForce said this morning that it expects the Coronavirus outbreak to cause lower-than-expected shipments of notebooks, monitors and other products in the first quarter of 2020 as manufacturers struggle to resume normal operations.

US Agencies Publicly Blame North Korea for Numerous Malware Campaigns

Government officials rarely attribute cyber attacks to other countries, but the U.S. made an exception on Valentine's Day, when multiple agencies publicly accused North Korea of conducting several malware campaigns against Western targets.

The accusations were revealed in several Malware Analysis Reports filed by the Department of Homeland Security, FBI and Department of Defense on February 14 as well as a tweet from the official U.S. Cyber Command Malware Alert account.

Don't Rule Out Activision Blizzard's Games Coming to GeForce Now

Nvidia officially launched its GeForce Now game streaming platform earlier this month . The company promptly had to remove titles published by Activision Blizzard from the service, but it seems like at least some of those games might return to GeForce Now after what Nvidia called a "misunderstanding" between the companies.

Report: Coronavirus Could Lead to Global Nintendo Switch Shortage

Somebody hand Mario his stethoscope. Bloomberg reported yesterday that Nintendo might struggle to meet demand for its Switch console, especially in the U.S. and Europe, due to supply problems caused by the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak.

Switch consoles shouldn't be hard to come by in the short-term, Bloomberg said, because Nintendo's already shipped all the units it expects to sell through March. But current supply constraints might lead to a global shortage as early as April.
