Apple's lawsuit against its former lead chip designer is moving forward. Bloomberg reported Sunday that Santa Clara County Superior Court Judge Mark Pierce rejected Gerard Williams III's request to dismiss his former employer's lawsuit against him.

Williams III led development of Apple's chips from 2013 to March 2019. He co-founded a new company, Nuvia, that left stealth in November 2019 when it revealed its data center-focused Phoenix processor

MNT Modular, Open Source 'Reform' Laptop to Hit Crowd Supply in February

It's easier than ever to make open source hardware that doesn't rely on hardly any proprietary technologies. "Easier than ever" isn't the same as "easy," though, which is why it's taken a few years for the MNT Reform laptop to officially debut. HPE Expects Server Shortages To Last Throughout 2020

HPE has warned customers that it expects Intel’s supply shortages in servers to continue during the full length of 2020, and advises companies to chose alternatives such as Skylake-SP. This would suggest that the shortages are yet again lasting longer than Intel expected, and are also affecting its data center business.
