(Image credit: Ubisoft / Look Behind You)

The Settlers (1993) was a popular city-building real-time strategy game, originally released in the twilight years of the Amiga’s reign as the king of home computers. Perhaps understandably, then, when the sequel was being prepared to be published, the Amiga was overlooked. The Settlers II: Veni, Vidi, Vici saw a PC/DOS -only launch in 1996. Now this historic ‘wrong’ – from

AMD, Nvidia, and Intel haven't given me a reason to upgrade since 2023, so I 3D printed enhancements to my PC instead

As a veteran PC builder and hardware enthusiast, I love upgrading my PC. But the system I built in 2023 has a Ryzen 9 7950X , an RTX 4090 , 64GB of RAM, and 9TB of solid-state storage. And I'm not looking to replace the 55-inch 4K OLED that I use as a monitor. So, with no real need for an X3D

AMD continued to win CPU market share from Intel on the desktop PC and server fronts in the first half of the year, but its position on the mobile CPU front got significantly weaker than it was in the second half of last year. Wean yourself off of Windows with Linuxfx — I've tried many Linux distros designed to look and feel like Windows, and this is the best one yet

The hunt for Linux-based alternatives is ongoing, and I've tried quite a few. One of my latest tests involves Linuxfx Winux (abbreviated to Linuxfx for brevity), which is based on the latest Ubuntu LTS. Linuxfx closely resembles the Windows 11 user interface, and for good reason; this is a distro for those who want the Windows experience as they move from Windows 10 or 11 to the world of Linux.
