Sony FX2 firmware update coming with new features to increase sales?

Sony FX2 is in Stock at BHphoto , Amazon , Adorama .

A new source told me this. I don’t know how reliable this info is yet:

Sony has provided us with a roadmap for firmware updates for the Cinema Line, including the FX2 .
Due to poor sales of the FX2, specifications that were cancelled at the time of its release have now been reinstated in the form of a major firmware update.

One new feature is a 1.2x crop sensor mode, which enables the FX2 to record 4K50p and 4K60p video with a smaller crop factor.

Meanwhile, the FX2’s point-to-point 4K120 mode had been developed and undergoing stability testing. This means that all Sony Cinema Line FX series cameras support 4K120.

Sony has informed our dealers that FE C zoom lenses are not a high priority, but they DO NOT intend to continue with the T3.1 strategy.

However, there is some bad news. Sony employees have informed me that the FX8 may be delayed due to production issues and fluctuations in the global tax rate, which have had a significant impact on the Shanghai professional camera factory.
