May 13 BIG BANG!

The Sony A7rVI is a powerhousa!

So let’s kick of with the big news.

1. The Sony A7rVI uses a 67MP fully stacked sensor. Only the Sony A1II has such a sensor in the Alpha lineup.
2. Spec wise I have been told it does more or less everything the Sony A1II does ( spec list here ).
3. it also has all the latest features introduced with the Sony A7V (spec list here )

What about the Sony A7rVI price?

Currently, the Sony A7rV is being sold for €4,000 at Fotokoch , FotoErhardt , and Calumet . At launch in 2022, the price was €4,500 . The Sony A1II currently sells for €7,500 at Fotokoch , FotoErhardt , and Calumet .

Well, the new Sony A7rVI is priced at around $5,000 and above €5,000. So yes, it is more expensive than the Sony A7rV , but consider this: you get the speed of the Sony A1II, all the new goodies of the A7V, more resolution, and you pay around $2,000/€2,000 less than you would for the Sony A1II. Bummer!

Sony 100-400mm f/4.5 GM lens

First of all this is NOT the successor of the current Sony 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM. Proof is the fact that it’s not named “GMII”. What sets this lens apart is that:

• internal zoom
• faster constant aperture
• super lightweight construction (I have been told it’s surprising how light it is)
• extreme high optical quality

The lens is rumored to be priced similar to the Sony A7rVI. This means around $5000 and a bit more than 5000 Euro.

Rumored Sony A7rVI specs:

• Around 67 Megapixel fully stacked sensor
• New body design
• Very similar Sony A1II specs when it comes to speed and video performance
• All the goodies we have seen on the new Sony A7V (AI functions, IBIS, autofocus and so forth)
• Us price around $5000 and European closer to €5,500

I will buy it simply because this is likely going to be the best camera you can buy: no more trade-offs between resolution and speed—you get both, and you pay less than for the Sony A1 II. What’s not to like here? Let me know what you think about this!
