an imaginary f/0,95 pancake lens :)

The competition still can’t match the vast selection of E-mount lenses available from over a dozen different manufacturers (full list here at BHphoto). Sony alone produces 82 of them. Yet, according to DigitalCameraWorld , five key lenses are still missing from the lineup:

1. Ultra-fast f/0.95 lenses : Nikon’s Z58mm f/0.95 was released in 2018, and third parties are producing a variety of f/0.95 lenses, so let’s not act like the market doesn’t exist.
2. 200mm F2 : Currently, two manufacturers, Sigma and LAOWA, have announced their latest 200mm F2 lenses , but considering that third-party products do not fully support functions such as continuous shooting, Sony’s lens may still be worthwhile. I hope Sony will work its GM magic on this lens, which is a staple for sports photographers and a tremendous tool for portrait photographers.
3. 800mm Prime Lens : I’m quite surprised that Sony doesn’t offer an 800mm prime lens. For professional sports photographers, an 800mm is an absolute must.
4. Tilt-shift lenses : I often hear the opinion that “ Canon’s TS-E lenses can be used, so there’s no need to release tilt-shift lenses.” However, if Fujifilm considers this category important enough to release tilt-shift lenses for medium format cameras, Sony should also release tilt-shift lenses native to the E-mount!
5. Fisheye Lenses : I have to admit that fisheye lenses are a niche thing, but I’m still surprised Sony hasn’t released one yet. The OM System went to the trouble of rebranding the 8mm F1.8 Pro from Olympus to the OM System brand, so clearly there’s still a demand for fisheyes.
