Sony made it official: May 13th, 9:30 EDT / 14:30 BST / 22:30 JST they will announce the next “R” camera. Thanks to our sources we can already tell you exactly what’s coming:

Rumored Sony A7rVI specs:

• Around 67 Megapixel fully stacked sensor
• 30fps
• pre-capture
• New body design
• New menu layout
• New batteries
• Very similar Sony A1II specs when it comes to speed and video performance
• All the goodies we have seen on the new Sony A7V (AI functions, IBIS, autofocus and so forth)
• Us price around $5000 and European closer to €5,500

Sony 100-400mm f/4.5 GM:

• Internal zoom
• As light, if not lighter than my Sony 300 f/2.8 with 1.4 tele attached
• Similar in length to my above lens (I held mine up against it), bit thickness similar to the 400 f/2.8,
• Zoom ring is large, 3.5-4” in length
• Lens foot attachment identical to 4-bolt design of the Sony 400 GM and Sony 600 GM respectively.
• Weight is balanced, with most of it towards the camera body.
• Has a black damper switch (Smooth-Tight) for the zoom ring
• At first glance I thought it was the Sony 400 f/2.8 ( if that gives you any idea of the relative size)
