The new battery for the Sony A7R6 is incompatible with older Sony cameras, as the positions of its electrical contacts have changed.The battery has a capacity of over 2600 mAh.

Current Sony NPFZ1000 batteries have 2280 mAh. This means we are getting +15% of battery capacity.

• New battery (NP-SA100) is more expensive ($120). You can’t reuse the old battery. The grip is a bit bigger for better ergonomic.  New vertical grip (VG-C6 $460)

• 16 stops at low iso mechanical shutter.
• 4k60 in FF (no crop), 4k12’p

• Very similar Sony A1II specs when it comes to speed and video performance
• All the goodies we have seen on the new Sony A7V (AI functions, IBIS, autofocus and so forth)
• new battery grip VG-C6 for $460
• camera available starting June 1
• Us price around $5000 and European closer to €5,500
