About those rumors: I have no idea who sent them and 90% of the times they turn out to be wrong. But, it happened in the past that a couple of those were right. So I will post them today, and we all together can eventually keep track of this. If one of the sources turns out to be right than we will know we can trust it a bit more!

All the recent wild rumors are about a new Cine camera:

Source 1:

Like Sony did 24 Mp partially stacked sensor for Panasonic S1ii, Nikon z6iii (external partners) and for itself used a 33 Mp partially stacked sensor for their own A7V, I have some credible Info that say, the A7SIv / FX3ii will not use the new 16-18 Mp fully staked sensor that you mentioned (that will be reserved for external partners), but a fully stacked 2 layer transistor pixel sensor around 24+ Mp sensor ( initially designed as a response to the Canon R6 III rumor that said it will use Canon R3 sensor) that is able to do 6k open gate, and also APC mode and also dynamic active stabilization with the new DCG-HDR in both photo and video so not needing mechanical shutter.

To me this is more logical also since dynamic active on 16 mp will leave it with -30% less available mp (around 11.2 Mp).

However in order to have 6k and -30% dynamic active you need 27.7 Mp – 30.3 Mp.

Very confident. New sensor, all about readout and HDR, can’t say anything specific beyond that, but I’m very confident it’s an FX3-like body. I also suspect higher than the usual 12mp, it sounds like there’s going to be some modes and tricks that I just don’t see 12mp being able to do. Sony has the sensor roadmap set for well beyond the this year, and the A7IV was just the beginning. Internally Sony feels confident.
