I’ve received conflicting rumors about the new FX5 sensor. Most of my sources say it has a native 16MP sensor, but one source claims it actually uses a higher-resolution sensor that is downsampled to 16MP. I can’t confirm whether that’s accurate. Either way, I think we’re likely looking at a resolution of around 16MP (maybe 16. something)

The real big question is whether this is a brand-new global shutter sensor or a fully stacked sensor. From what I’ve heard most recently, the original global shutter rumor may have been based on a misunderstanding from a source. :(
