HOT: New leaked Sony FX5 images!

Two different sources (Thanks!) sent me three images of the new Sony FX5. Here they are:

Here are the major things I noticed from these leaked images:

  1. The shape is really nearly the same of the Sony FX3 , But the FX5 is a bit thicker.
  2. We finally see that external tiltable EVF
  3. The 3.5 inch fully articulating screen is eating up the real estate on the back of the camera. There is no more control wheel and only three buttons are left.

There are other minor changes here and there (like the addition of a False color button) but in short this is a more advanced version of the FX3, with Venice menu, internal RAW, Open gate.

More new FX5 info: The sources also told me there are some new internal RAW formats made for this camera, the camera has dual SD/CF Type A support (with two slots) and when it comes to IBIS there is something interesting I will report soon on SAR ;)

First  impressions from FX5 testers: All the testers I spoke with told me they really like the camera. They described it as a much more mature product than the FX3. Yes, it costs more (though not that much more), but it addresses many of the FX3’s shortcomings. Of course, these are personal opinions, but one interesting thing I can report is that every single source I spoke to had a positive impression of the camera.

Share your opinion: With the images and specs you have seen so far…do you think this is the camera you were waiting for?
