I am sure this happened to some of you in the past. My MacBook Pro suddenly died, and I have to buy a new one. While checking for some refurbished models, I noticed how crazy expensive the prices now are. In 2021 I got my laptop with 64GB RAM, and now I have to pay 1,100 Euro extra just to get the same amount of RAM.
This also made me think about what’s going to happen to future camera launches: Fujifilm officially stated in their financial report that the price increases on electronic parts is a big problem. I forecast that many manufacturers will delay some of the future camera launches because of that. Profit margins are slim, and price increases can only help so much.
Fujifilm already delayed the X-T6 launch, which was expected to happen on September 3. I wonder if Sony will do the same and we might be done with camera announcements this year?
Anyway, back to my personal annoying problem: ended up buying a refurbished Mac with LESS RAM and LESS storage than I had before just to save some bucks.
