Good News for Production: Sony’s Kumamoto Factory Back to Full Capacity

Sony Group announced on the 19th that its image sensor factory in Kikuyo-machi, Kumamoto Prefecture, which was damaged in the Kumamoto earthquake, had returned to pre-earthquake production levels on the same day. After temporarily suspending operations following the earthquake on July 28, the factory had gradually resumed operations from August 4. The factory suffered damage such as shifted manufacturing equipment in the Kumamoto earthquake 10 years ago, and it took more than three months to fully recover.
