another leaked piece of image showing the 400-800mm zoom range
I am in touch with some testers of the new Sony 400-800mm G lens . They have mixed feelings on this lens. Basically you don’t hate it nor love it. They like the focal range but the lens is a bit on the heavy side (2,5kg) and not super sharp. But this was to be expected from a G lens. I guess this is a lens made for a certain niche, and they will probably like the lens for what it is.
The feedback on the new Sony 16mm f/1.8 G is very positive. This lens is more compact, lighter, with faster autofocus and better image quality than the only competing lens on the market (available here) .
Both lenses will be announced on Feb 26 while more new gear COULD be announced in late March-early April!
