I am yet not 100% sure about this part of the Sony A7V rumor yet…but it looks like the chance is there that the Sony A7V will:

• NOT have Open Gate
• NOT have Pre Capture
• still have the crop in 4k60p

I hope reliable sources can confirm — or even better, deny — this rumor soon. In the worst-case scenario, Sony could still add Open Gate and Pre-Capture through a future firmware update. But that crop… if it’s there from the start, it’s probably here to stay. 😕

Sony A7V rumored specs :

• 33MP sensor (unclear if same of the A7IV or tweaked or new partially stacked)
• improved fps rate (15fps?)
• 8 stops IBIS
• new AI chip like the Sony A1II
• Free-Angle Tilting 3.2″ Touchscreen LCD
• 2x dual Type A SD slot
• no C5 button
• UNCONFIRMED: No Open Gate, No Pre Capture and 4k60p crop still here.
• improved EVF (5.6m dot?)
• Same Sony A7rV body design.
• price close to $3000
• Announcement in early December
• Limited batch ships before Christmas

Three lenses are on Sony’s roadmap:

• 100-400mm f/4.0 GM
• 100-400mm G (variable aperture)
• ultra wide angle f/2.0 GM zoom
