US Secretary of State Marco Rubio says US and Iranian negotiators have "a pretty solid thing on the table" and a deal between the two countries may be reached on Monday.

Autocratic monarchs once left an echo of their glory in the ruins of the megaprojects they commanded at the peak of their unchallenged power. Those monumental physical traces are to be found in the fertile plains, mountainsides and deserts of the Middle East. But one of their most prominent modern counterparts may only have a digital footprint to leave behind for some of his most ambitious concepts.

A decade ago, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman – or MBS as he is widely known – decreed a revisioning of his country

Ryanair and other European airlines now fly to Western Sahara, with some calling it Morocco

Back in March, an email landed in my inbox from Irish airline Ryanair asking me if I was ready for my "next Moroccan adventure".

She was told to marry in a country which bans girls' education. So she got in a taxi and fled

Alia travelled to the Afghan capital to escape the prospect of marriage as her only option

Alia - whose name we have changed for her safety - travelled hundreds of miles from her village to Kabul to escape marriage.

The journey by taxi last year with her female cousin - covered from head to toe, only their eyes visible, as the rules decree - was an exceptional thing to do, and risky in Afghanistan, where at any moment they might be caught by the Taliban inspectors enforcing rules banning women travelling long distances without a
