Toronto parking enforcement officer struck by vehicle after issuing ticket

Toronto police are looking for a driver who allegedly struck a parking enforcement officer on Monday after receiving a ticket.

Investigators say they were called to the area of Queens Quay East and Richardson Street around 2:25 p.m. Monday.

A parking enforcement officer had issued a ticket to a white 2017 Mecedes Benz C63S convertible. The driver returned to the vehicle and got into an argument with the officer.

Champagne defends fiscal track as defence, infrastructure spending ratchets up

OTTAWA — Finance Minster François-Philippe Champagne says the Liberals are keeping federal finances under control even as key defence and infrastructure spending details remain under wraps.

Champagne told reporters today that Ottawa has been “very transparent” with Canadians about the pace of federal spending and the need to focus on what the government can control in a period of geopolitical instability.

One person killed, another injured in Scarborough shooting

One person has been killed while another is injured after a shooting in Scarborough on Monday afternoon.

Toronto police say they were called to Victoria Park Avenue and south of Highway 401 around 3:15 for reports of a shooting.

One person was found with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second victim was located at Victoria Park and Sheppard Avenue. They are being rushed to hospital by emergency run. The severity of their injuries is unknwn.

Man arrested, another wanted after vehicle stolen from Mississauga residential parking lots

A man has been arrested and a warrant has been issued for another following multiple vehicle thefts from residential parking lots in Mississauga.

Peel police say an investigation was launched in May 2026 after they identified vehicle thefts and attempted thefts that were happening in underground parking garages in the area of Hurontario Street and Burnamthorpe Road East.

Using video surveillance analysis, automated licence plate recogntiation, body-worn camera footage and community outreach, two suspects were identified.

6 charged after $20M worth of cocaine, $2.5M cash seized during drug probe: YRP

Six people are facing charges after York Regional Police and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) say they seized cocaine with an estimated street value of $20 million, along with $2.5 million in cash, during a series of raids connected to a drug investigation dubbed Project Golden Frog.

The probe began in May 2026, when border agents say they intercepted a shipment from Panama that allegedly contained a large quantity of suspected cocaine.

Ex-employee breaks into Pickering office, steals $22k in electronics: Durham police

An Oshawa man is facing charges for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of electronics from a financial business in Pickering where he used to be employed.

Durham police responded to a break-and-enter call at the business in the area of Liverpool Road and Pickering Parkway last month.

Police say staff at the business received notifications that an ex-employee was allegedly using a stolen key fob to access the office.
