Tennessee man known for racist videos held on $1.25M bond for courthouse shooting
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee man who goes by the moniker and is known for posting racist videos to social media was given a $1.25 million preliminary bond on and other charges on Friday.
Dalton Eatherly, 28, is accused of shooting another person in the middle of the day on Wednesday outside the Montgomery County Courthouse during an altercation.
An affidavit filed with the arrest warrant says that Eatherly and the other man “engaged in a verbal altercation” at about 1:19
Major VPN provider says it could leave Canada over lawful access bill
OTTAWA — Virtual private network service NordVPN warned on Friday it could pull out of Canada over the federal government’s proposed lawful access bill.
NordVPN said in a social media post it is reviewing the bill and would consider leaving Canada if the bill requires it to compromise its privacy protections.
The company said if Bill C-22 passes “and if we are subjected to mandatory obligations, there isn’t a scenario in which we would compromise our no-logs architecture or encryption protections.”

Police locate, capture large dog that killed smaller dog and injured owner
Toronto police have located the dog wanted in connection with the mauling death of a smaller dog in the city’s west end earlier this week.
Investigators issued a public safety alert just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday following reports of an assault involving a larger dog, described as an abandoned, brown pit bull mix, in the Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue West area
Police said the “unprovoked” attack resulted in a small dog being killed and the owner sustaining non-life threatening injuries.

Scarborough man arrested for making threats against multiple Brampton schools
Peel Regional Police say they have arrested a man in connection with threats made to three schools in Brampton.
A secondary school received numerous threatening phone messages between May 10 and 12 and an investigation revealed that similar threats were made against another secondary school and elementary school in Brampton.
While all the threats were determined to be unfounded, police say they involved the same suspect.
Bryan Hulme, 31, from Scarborough was arrested and charged with uttering threats and three counts of public mischief.

MONTREAL — Transat AT Inc. says high jet fuel prices added $70 million in additional costs for March and April compared with the same months last year.
The travel company says fuel surcharges have only marginally offset the higher costs because a large portion of its bookings were made before the crisis caused by the attacks on Iran by the U.S. and Israel began.
