A South Dakota tribe has banned Republican Gov. Kristi Noem from the Pine Ridge Reservation after this week about wanting to send razor wire and security personnel to Texas to help deter immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border and also said cartels are infiltrating the state’s reservations.

Person shot in North York, suspect fled in vehicle: police

A person was shot in North York on Saturday night and police say the suspect fled in a vehicle speeding off.

Toronto police responded to a call for reports of gunshots in the area of Three Valley Drive and Groveland Crescent just before 10:00 p.m.

A victim, a man in his 50’s, was located with gunshot wounds and transported to hospital via trauma run. He has serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Panama’s Ricardo Martinelli vows to run for presidency despite recent money-laundering conviction

PANAMA CITY, Panama (AP) — A former president convicted of money laundering defiantly proclaimed his intention Saturday to run in Panama’s upcoming presidential election despite facing a possible ban on seeking office.

Ricardo Martinelli was officially presented as the candidate of the Realizing Goals Party at a rally in Panama City where his supporters waved blue and white flags and chanted that they will stand with him in his struggle with Panamanian officials.

Cyclist succumbs to injuries after being struck by car in Scarborough

A woman has succumbed to her injuries after a collision involving a bicycle and a car in Scarborough.

Toronto police say officers were called to the intersection of McNicoll Avenue and Brimley Road around 1:45 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 30 for reports of a crash.

According to police, a 2010 Nissan Sentra was travelling westbound on McNicoll and attempted to make a left turn onto Brimley. While making the turn the car struck a female cyclist who was travelling eastbound on McNicoll.

2 people transported to hospital after vehicle collides with tree in Scarborough

Two people have been transported to hospital following a single-vehicle collision with a tree in Scarborough on Saturday evening.

Police responded to a call just before 7:30 p.m. for reports that a single vehicle went into a tree in the Bellamy Road and Nelson Street area.

Fire, police and medics arrived on scene and the driver and a pedestrian, both males in their 20’s, were transported to hospital via emergency run with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Auston Matthews earned top billing less than 24 hours later.

Another ‘Pineapple Express’ storm is expected to wallop California

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Another potentially was expected to hit California late Saturday, bringing the threat of flooding and mudslides over the next couple of days.

Californians spent Friday and Saturday preparing for what forecasters are saying could be the largest storm of the season, with the worst expected to hit Ventura and Santa Barbara counties on Sunday and Monday. One taken to hospital in two-vehicle collision near Avenue and Chaplin area

One person has been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle collision in the Avenue Road and Chaplin Crescent area on Saturday.

Police responded to reports of a collision in the area just after 4:00 p.m. and paramedics transported one person in minor condition.

Chaplin Crescent is closed in both directions at Avenue Road and police advise to use alternate routes.
