Social media influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate expected in Miami court

MIAMI (AP) — Influencer brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate are scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate in Miami on Monday after they were arrested to face rape and sex trafficking charges in the United Kingdom.

The Tates are being held in federal detention following their arrest on Saturday. In the coming weeks, a U.S. district judge will consider whether they meet the conditions for extradition.

Celebrations erupt on Toronto streets after Spain’s World Cup victory

Fans hit the streets of Toronto in full force Sunday night to celebrate Spain’s World Cup victory over Argentina.

On College Street hundreds of people stepped out donning red and yellow flags for a spontaneous fiesta.

Outside La Patrona restaurant, fans told CityNews they have been waiting for this moment for 16 years since Spain’s last World Cup victory in 2010.

Toronto man, 28, charged with 10 drug and gun offences

A Toronto man was arrested and charged Sunday in connection with a drug and gun investigation in the city’s Alexandra Park neighbourhood.

According to authorities, 28-year-old Juan De Leon was allegedly driving a car the wrong way on a one-way street.

He was pulled over by police officers spotted open alcohol inside the vehicle.

During a search of the car, officers also found two loaded guns, an unspecified quantity of drugs and more than $10,000 in cash.

Canada’s wildfire season has sparked a political back and forth in the United States, with President Trump and a California senator trading criticism over the cross-border smoke.
