SpaceX's 'Starlink' satellite-based internet service will be fast enough for competitive gaming

In context: SpaceX has its hands in a lot of cookie jars at the moment. The company builds and launches rockets, it creates functioning flamethrowers, and more recently, it's begun to launch a satellite-based internet service known as "Starlink." Starlink still has a ways to go before it becomes commercially available, but SpaceX CEO Elon Musk shared some additional details about the service during a conference yesterday.

Publisher 2K Games strikes deal with NFL to make football games again

Highly anticipated: 2K Games struck a deal with the NFL to make officially licensed football games for the first time since 2005. While this deal only includes non-simulation football, it will hopefully bring some competition back into the NFL football space.

Head of Sony Studios confirms rumors of Horizon Zero Dawn PC port

Something to look forward to: Another former PlayStation 4 exclusive is coming to PC. Sony has confirmed that Horizon Zero Dawn will hit PCs this summer. Its launch will proceed two other exclusives — Red Dead Redemption 2 slated for November 5, 2020, and Death Stranding, which may arrive late this year.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang won't deliver his annual GTC keynote this year

What just happened? A few days ago, Nvidia revealed that it would be shifting its annual GPU Technology Conference to an online-only event due to coronavirus (COVID-19) fears. What just happened? GameStop appointed Nintendo veteran Reggie Fils-Aimé to its board of directors. Netflix renews Lost in Space for a third and final season

The big picture: Netflix renewed its sci-fi television show Lost in Space for a third season this week, extending the reimagining of the original series until 2021. The news is bittersweet, however, as the third season will serve as the series finale.

The admission isn’t a total surprise for those that have followed the reboot closely. Executive producer / showrunner Zack Estrin said that since the beginning, they’ve viewed this story as a trilogy with a clear beginning, middle and end.


Command & Conquer Remastered Collection gets June 5 launch date

Why it matters: EA on Tuesday dropped the official reveal trailer for Command & Conquer Remastered Collection, a compilation of iconic real-time strategy games that defined and popularized the genre.

EA first announced the project to the public in October 2018. The video game company described the effort as a passion project between EA and some of the Westwood Studios team members that originally worked on the series.
