Don't touch your face! This vibrating wristband helps keep hands away

In context: We know that washing our hands is key to preventing the spread of the coronavirus, and so is not touching your face. To help with the latter, a company has developed a wristband that vibrates when a wearer’s hand goes near their mouth, nose, or eyes.

A startup called Slightly Robot had spent three years creating a wristband designed to address trichotillomania—a disorder in which people are compelled to pull out their hair. It was also created to help other obsessive-compulsive behaviors, such

Opinion: AMD highlights path to the future

Why it matters: After a gangbuster performance on the stock market for the last several years, AMD, CEO Dr. Lisa Su, and its executive leadership team have been under the glare of a lot of media attention recently. Despite the apparent pressure, however, the company keeps coming out swinging and the announcements from last week’s Financial Analyst Day indicate that AMD is showing no signs of letting up.

In fact, the key takeaway from the event was that the company leadership—and apparently many of the financial

While the Comet Lake laptop processors arrived last summer, the launch date of the desktop versions is still a mystery. But we now might have a better idea of when they’ll arrive, thanks to Unikoshardware.com , which has posted pictures of the Intel Core i5-10400 and

Apple now says it's okay to disinfect its products, explains how

What just happened? Apple has long advised against using disinfectants to clean its products, but as the coronavirus outbreak continues, the company has said it’s okay to use certain wipes on iPhones, iPads, Macs, etc.

Apple had told users not to apply any “cleaning products” to its devices’ touchscreens as they may corrode their oleophobic (oil-repellant) and hydrophobic (water-repellent) coatings. But the company has updated its How to clean your Apple Products page with new information.

Google removes Antutu benchmark apps from the Play Store

In context: Google's crackdown against apps violating its Play Store policies recently saw all of Cheetah Mobile's apps pulled from the Android marketplace after the Chinese developer was found guilty of churning out ad-infested apps with excessive data collection and dodgy in-app purchase mechanisms. In an alleged misunderstanding, Google has also booted Antutu's popular benchmarking apps on account of its relationship with the shady development studio.

Though not as impactful as they once were, smartphone benchmarking apps are still fairly popular among users looking to

After reviewing the Threadripper 3990X, it was made clear the 64-core/128-thread beast from AMD lays waste to every HEDT part we have ever tested. It's an insane productivity CPU, that we pushed to extremes to torture a few motherboards just this week. Then we thought, why not try out some...

Something to look forward to: Microsoft's first big update for Windows 10 this year brings with it lots of improvements, but with the company focusing on Windows 10X and the necessary modularization work to make that OS a reality, it hasn't managed to smooth out all the rough edges just yet.

Windows 10 is set to receive a new major update in April, one year after they officially started working on it. Dubbed 20H1 or version 2004, this is

iPadOS 14 will reportedly include full mouse cursor support

Something to look forward to: Apple has always positioned the iPad as an alternative to traditional PCs (or, at least, laptops), but without proper built-in mouse support, that comparison has fallen flat -- sometimes, you need more precision than a touch screen alone can offer. It seems Apple understands that now, though. The company will reportedly be adding mouse cursor support to iPadOS 14 when it launches.

This news comes courtesy of 9to5Mac, which gained access to iPadOS 14

The big picture: Smartphone sales in China during the month of February were down nearly 55 percent year-over-year according to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). Whether or not the situation improved in the near-term will depend on how consumers and the supply chain cope with the ongoing outbreak.
