DriftGuard adds experimental Xbox calibration for stick drift fixes

DriftGuard calibration tool supports Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo controllers

A controller repair specialist Modyfikator89 showed a new Xbox calibration method. The tool can reportedly write joystick calibration data directly to controller memory, with support for manual and automatic calibration.

DriftGuard has been available on Steam since 2024, where it launched as an Early Access gamepad maintenance tool. The original version focused mainly on diagnostics, light drift correction and calibration after Hall Effect or TMR analog stick upgrades.

AV2 moves closer to final spec after draft release

AOMedia’s next-generation AV2 codec appears to be moving toward its final 1.0.0 release. A recent commit in the AOMedia AVM repository updates the changelog with “2026-05-29 v1.0.0” and calls it the “ First released version of AV2.”

GPDTool replaces MotionAssist

GPD now has an official control utility for its Windows handhelds. The new GPDTool app is designed for system tuning, overlay controls, hotkey bindings and quick access to handheld-specific settings.

The utility is listed on GPD’s official website as “GPDTool,” with support for TDP adjustment, performance monitoring and fan curve control. A GPD Store support page calls it the successor to MotionAssist, the older utility that shipped with GPD devices for years.

ASUS appears to be preparing another ROG Astral graphics card for the RTX 50 series. The company has shown a new black-and-gold design in a short teaser, which also includes what looks like a matching high-end ROG motherboard setup.
