ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 bundle already listed 10% above MSRP

The ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 and ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20 bundle has appeared at the first European retailers, but not at the price ASUS announced.

ASUS previously said the limited ROG Edition 20 motherboard and AIO cooler bundle would cost €2,999. However, listings from LDLC and Materiel.net now show the product at €3,299

Microsoft lands DirectX 12 AV1 encode path in Mesa 26.2

Microsoft has upstreamed an early AV1 video encoding path to Mesa 26.2.

According to Phoronix, the code was contributed directly by Microsoft engineers and uses DirectX 12 together with Hardware Media Foundation Transform. HMFT is part of the Windows Media Foundation layer and provides access to hardware media acceleration on Windows.

Valve Proton 11 released, adds support for Resident Evil and Dino Crisis

Proton 11 brings Wine 11.0 base and updated DXVK components

Proton 11.0-1 is now available as Valve’s latest stable Steam Play compatibility layer.

The release is based on Wine 11.0 and brings a long list of game-specific fixes. Proton allows Windows games to run on Linux through Steam, including SteamOS systems such as Steam Deck.
