The ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Edition 20 and ROG Ryujin 360 Edition 20 bundle has appeared at the first European retailers, but not at the price ASUS announced.
ASUS previously said the limited ROG Edition 20 motherboard and AIO cooler bundle would cost €2,999. However, listings from LDLC and Materiel.net now show the product at €3,299

Microsoft has upstreamed an early AV1 video encoding path to Mesa 26.2.
According to Phoronix, the code was contributed directly by Microsoft engineers and uses DirectX 12 together with Hardware Media Foundation Transform. HMFT is part of the Windows Media Foundation layer and provides access to hardware media acceleration on Windows.

Thermaltake Dockpower FI PSU separates cables from the power supply.
Thermaltake has introduced the Dockpower FI series, a new lineup of ATX 3.1 power supplies with a detachable modular cable dock. The design separates the PSU body from the modular connector section. Thermaltake calls this a Docking Power Architecture. The dock module can stay connected to the system cables while the main PSU unit is removed or replaced.

Sony is facing a wider backlash after confirming that physical disc production for new PlayStation games will end in January 2028. After that date, new PlayStation games will be sold through the PlayStation Store and through retailers in digital formats only.

DLSS Swapper creator has warned users about the risk of malware in uploaded DLSS files. This is separate from earlier warnings about fake DLSS Swapper download pages.
The warning concerns DLL files submitted through the DLSS Swapper manifest system. DLSS Swapper uses a manifest file to track supported DLSS, FSR and XeSS libraries, including their versions and file hashes. The manifest builder is the tool used by the project to process these files and generate the data used by the app

Samsung PM1763 PCIe 6.0 SSD enters mass production.
The new drive uses Samsung’s 9th Gen V-NAND and a newly developed 4nm controller. Samsung says the controller and interface upgrade allow the PM1763 to deliver more than twice the performance of the previous PM1753 series.

Proton 11.0-1 is now available as Valve’s latest stable Steam Play compatibility layer.
The release is based on Wine 11.0 and brings a long list of game-specific fixes. Proton allows Windows games to run on Linux through Steam, including SteamOS systems such as Steam Deck.
