Some residents on a street in Scarborough’s Cliffcrest area aren’t feeling very mellow about yellow these days — specifically the infuriating yellow parking tickets they’re perpetually snatching off their vehicle windshields.
Residents on National Street, not far from St. Clair Avenue East and Midland Avenue, say they’re being incessantly ticketed for parking near their homes, even though there’s no signage saying they can’t, and no permit parking options available.

Canada’s largest airport is warning passengers to be careful about what they click on. Officials at Toronto Pearson Airport say artificial-intelligence (AI) generated articles are giving false and misleading information about flight operations.
“In the last few months, we’ve seen this really ramp up,” said Sean Davidson, Pearson Airport spokesperson.

Federal agents did not have body-worn cameras when a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer fatally shot a Mexican homebuilder who was driving a work van they tried pulling over in Houston, the Department of Homeland Security said Thursday.

The TTC says subway service has resumed between Union and St. George stations on Line 1 Yonge-University after it was halted for about an hour during the heart of the evening rush due to a fire.
The fire call went out to Toronto Fire at around 5:36 p.m.
At around 6:40 p.m. the TTC posted that full service has resumed.
It’s not clear where exactly the fire broke out at this point, or what caused it.

No injuries after Air Canada plane exits taxiway upon landing at Montreal airport
An Air Canada plane arriving from Los Angeles exited a taxiway after landing at Montreal-Trudeau airport on Thursday afternoon. No injuries were reported.
Photos sent to CityNews show the plane on the grass. It happened around 4:30 p.m.
Air Canada says AC774, from LAX to YUL, landed normally in Montreal before sustaining a “runway excursion.”
The plane “travelled through the grass when exiting the main runway,” a spokesperson said.

Roof collapses at Hyundai dealership in Etobicoke
Part of the roof at a Hyundai dealership in Etobicoke collapsed on Thursday, causing extensive damage.
It happened at the dealership at 1617 The Queensway, just east of the East Mall, just after 3 p.m.
Toronto Fire Services tells CityNews there are no reported injuries.
The area was experiencing extreme weather at the time, with heavy downpours, but there’s no confirmation at this point that weather caused the collapse.
