Peel Regional Police (PRP) have arrested and charged two men in connection with a “violent” carjacking that happened in Brampton at the beginning of the year.

HALIFAX — Development of Canada’s first offshore wind farms took a significant step forward late Friday when Nova Scotia’s offshore energy regulator released the names of companies qualified to bid on seabed licences.
The Canada-Nova Scotia Offshore Energy Regulator identified five companies and two groups of companies that won approval after taking part in a review process between October 2025 and January of this year.

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — An Israeli drone strike on Saturday killed two Palestinian siblings, including a 15-year-old girl, in southern Gaza and wounded at least seven others, according to Nasser hospital, where the casualties were taken.
The strike targeted tents sheltering displaced Palestinians in the sprawling camp of Muwasi, killing 15-year-old Islam Moussa and her 30-year-old brother, Abdullah Moussa.

Toronto police arrested and charged a woman in connection with a “targeted” downtown stabbing that happened Saturday night.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Gerrard Street East and Yonge Street just after 10:15 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.

PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) — A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck parts of Pakistan and neighboring Afghanistan on Saturday, sending panicked residents across Pakistan rushing out of their homes, authorities said. There were no immediate reports of damage or casualties.

Motorcyclist killed in Brampton hit-and-run
Peel Regional Police are investigating a collision that killed a motorcyclist in Brampton early Saturday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Bovaird Drive and Yellow Brick Road shortly before 4 a.m. for reports of a collision between a motorcyclist and a car.
The 21-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Police say the driver of the car fled the area and was later arrested and charged with impaired driving.

Police hunt underway for 2 men who fled Chinatown car crash
Toronto police are investigating an early morning car crash that happened in the city’s Chinatown neighbourhood Saturday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Spadina Avenue and Dundas Street at approximately 5:20 a.m. for reports of a two-vehicle collision.
