OTTAWA — Prime Minister Mark Carney said Thursday Ottawa will send humanitarian aid to support Venezuelans after what he called “catastrophic earthquakes” overnight.

OTTAWA — Canada is cleared to participate in the Eurovision song contest after CBC/Radio-Canada became a full member of the European Broadcasting Union on Thursday.
In last fall’s federal budget, the government said it was looking at getting Canada into the popular international song contest.

2‑vehicle crash closes southbound Renforth Drive, delays reported in Etobicoke
A two‑vehicle collision in Etobicoke late Thursday morning has shut down a stretch of Renforth Drive and is causing significant traffic delays, Toronto police say.
Emergency crews were called to Renforth Drive and Rathburn Road around 10:17 a.m. for reports of a crash involving two vehicles. Police said airbags deployed on at least one of the vehicles.
