WASHINGTON — A major benchmark is coming up for the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement on trade, known in Canada as CUSMA.

July 1 is the deadline for the three countries to either formally extend the agreement for 16 years or continue under annual reviews.

Rapper Mystikal sentenced to 20 years in Louisiana rape case

The rapper Mystikal, who received multiple Grammy nominations in the early 2000s, will serve 20 years in prison for raping a woman at his Louisiana home in 2022.

Female pedestrian struck by vehicle in North York

A female pedestrian has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in North York.

Toronto police were called to Leslie Street and Bannatyne Drive around 6:15 p.m. for reports of a pedestrian struck.

The female, whose age is unknown, was transported to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.

Northbound Leslie is closed at York Mills Road and the southbound lanes are closed at Bannatyne.

Man stabbed near Yonge and Dundas

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital after being stabbed near Yonge and Dundas streets.

Toronto police were called to the intersection just after 5 p.m. for reports a male had been stabbed.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound and was taken to hospital.
