A special weather statement has been issued for Toronto and parts of the GTA along Lake Ontario due to heavy rainfall expected over the weekend.

Environment Canada says a low pressure system is bringing between 30 and 50 mm of rain to parts of southern Ontario north of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario.

A Ukrainian drone attack caused a fire at another Russian oil terminal overnight, local officials in Russia’s Krasnodar region said Saturday, in what appeared to be the latest .

OTTAWA — A provision in the federal government’s proposed hate crime bill to create a stand-alone hate crime offence will make it easier to investigate and prosecute those crimes, some experts say.

Police search for man in alleged sexual assault of 8-year-old at Scarborough mall

Police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted an eight-year-old girl at a Scarborough mall.

Investigators say just before 4 p.m. on May 12, the man approached the girl inside a store at Woodside Square at Finch Avenue East and McCowan Road.

Police allege he sexually assaulted the girl and followed her around the store before grabbing her. She then alerted family members, who confronted the man before he fled the scene.
