At least six people have been killed and others injured after a bus caught fire in a town in western Switzerland, according to police.

The incident took place at around 18:25 local time (19:25 GMT) on Tuesday in the centre of Kerzers - known in French as Chiètres - in Fribourg canton, about 20km (12 miles) from the capital, Bern

Peruvian literary giant Alfredo Bryce Echenique has died at the age of 87.

He is best known for the 1970 novel A World for Julius, which chronicled the frivolous lives of the elite in Peru's capital Lima through the eyes of an orphan.

His works were marked by irony, melancholy and acute observation of social inequality. He won numerous prizes and became one

Russia's deportation of Ukrainian children amounts to crime against humanity, UN says
