Sony Tidbits…


RUMOR: That new High End APS-C cameras name is not A6700. Announcement in two weeks from now!

Image on top shows the A6600 . The new camera will replace it.

Just a couple of tidbits rumors I got over the weekend:

  • A trusted source told me the camera will not be named A6700
  • Another trusted source told me to expect the announcement in around two weeks from now
  • Another source who saw the camera says it’s definitely a sort of Sony A7c looking camera.

Sony A6500 has been discontinued

Sony officially removed the the camera from their website while the A6500 has been marked as discontinued by BHphoto.

I guess that with the announcement of the new A6900 (or whatever the name will be) it makes no sense for Sony to keep that model alive.

RUMOR: New High End APS-C camera has “improved IBIS”


Image on top shows the current Sony A7c . The new High end APS-C camera will look very similar to it.

Another source basically confirmed what we know so far and added some tidbits (Thanks!):

  • Basically, an a7c with an aps-c sensor.
  • same EVF, LCD resolution
  • same tilt screen
  • same new menus
  • only minor tweaks to a7c body
  • BUT improved IBIS using smaller APS-C sensor
  • New sensor
  • higher resolution over current APS-C line
  • same FPS as a6
